Ken Nicholles2/6We could put in a dumbwaiter which is basically an elevator for sending up food and sending down dirty dishes probably cost less then another kitchen.A dumbwaiter was discussed by the committee. Consultants advised against it because of health reasons - they are very difficult to keep clean compared to an elevator which has the capability of transporting much larger loads. Current plans call for one kitchen downstairs and using the nearby elevator to move food upstairs.
Dennis Sherwin4/25Will it be possible to have a little larger bar with proper draft beer dispensers and a walk in cooler with feed from back shelving. Study of a working flow chart would be very helpful.Provisions for a larger bar with these features have been included in the planning process.
Glenn Royea4/21Install some power, water and sanitary hookups in the parking lot so out of town teams can use their motor homes and campers instead of motels when they come here to a spiel. Maybe have some showers in the locker room too.Although the parking lot is not part of the mandate of the committee, the city does have a plan for developing parking for the area nearby. This suggestion will be passed on to the city.
Glenn Royea3/19Place an automatic shoe cleaner just inside the front entrance to the club so people can clean their street shoes when they come inside. Might help keep the floors and ice cleaner.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Bobby Neid3/14Cameras (or at least the wiring for cameras) installed that can film the action (not just the houses). Would be great to be able to stream important games or show highlights from bonspiels and other events online. Examples: https://www.youtube.com/user/ardsleycurlingclub and https://www.youtube.com/user/uticacurling. Helpful for increasing social media exposure. *** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Glenn Royea2/17If the rink is going to have 8 sheets, maybe there can be more availability of practice ice. In any case (6 sheets or 8), I think more, regularily scheduled practice ice would be very handy for members, beginners, players tuning up for zones, etc. This suggestion will be forwarded to the Leagues Committee.
Glenn Royea2/17Increase the amount of space between the glass and the ice at the home end. It would be nice (and safer I think) to have room for curling bags, etc. and be able to walk past them.We are definitely concerned with the lack of space we currently have on the end boards and are recommending that enough space is in place to ensure the safety of our players.
Glenn Royea1/24Have lots of electrical outlets around the club and particularily by the glass, both upstairs and downstairs. Often see lots of electronic devices in use by spectators and coaches (phones, cameras, recorders, tablets, pads, etc.) and typically very few places to plug them in or recharge them.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Deane Crutch8/17At least one dedicated meeting/conference room.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Deane Crutch8/17Review this web page from CurlTech.http://curlingschool.com/manual2007/Section14.html*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Howard Grisack8/10Two washroom suggestions - 1) Try to establish access from both ends of the ice areas so we masters can minimize our time off the ice. 2) Include showers in at least one each of the M and W washrooms.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Gord Bradley7/29If the new building is to be located to the west of the existing building.Would it be possible to incorporate a grandstand on the west side of the new rink. This would give the Soccer/football stadium. Seating on both sides. Thereby increasing the seating capacity for that field*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Dick Allan7/27Ensure that there is adequate change room space and sufficient lockers as well as enlarged washroom and toilet facilities.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Dick Allan7/27Instead of using our 'old' upstairs tables and chairs, why not buy 'new'? A new facility would look much more appealing and nicer with 'new' furniture. *** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Russ Knutson7/25Air conditioning - mainly for the areas that may be used for rental purposes during the off season (ie spring/summer rentals for weddings etc).*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Wright Chappell7/25Mirrors above the far end? Image Image*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Mike Csoka7/25Plan the lounge area so that it is large enough to accommodate weddings and larger events as there is a need in Chilliwack for such a facility.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault7/22Explore the possibility of incorporating an additional mini sheet for little rockers and Learn to Curl.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault7/22Investigate the possibility of placing fittings for volleyball/badminton net poles in the concrete pad.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault5/31Given the increased summer usage that is anticipated, will the bar/lounge areas have air conditioning?*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Sherry Barker4/2It may be beneficial to have a large enough elevator and portable ramps to accommodate wheelchair curlers. Please see the response to question #11 on the faq page.
Len Rae3/30Look at having the curling officials as well the spares and coaches at the opposite end of the ice away from the viewing area. Unobstructed viewing is a premium. Reason for discussing during the design is to ensure electronic wiring is properly located.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Melinda Saretzky3/28I am curious if another lounging area, like the TV and couches upstairs, would be useful if it was downstairs. It might encourage the junior curlers to come and hang out and watch curling more often. *** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Martin Schmok3/27If we have 8 sheets, use 2 sheets for new curlers so they are not embarrassed, and then they can see others play. This will be forwarded to the Bonspiel and Leagues committee and other groups for consideration.
Glen Ringdal3/26Will the plans include a high ceiling that could make it suitable for lacrosse in the summer? Please see the response to question #10 on the faq page.
Will Schacher3/26More lockers to eliminate a wait list for curlers to obtain one*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Will Schacher3/26It would be nice if there was seating & a wider walkway on both ends of the rink. This would also serve well for the roller rink, suggested for the summer month usage.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault3/21Will it be possible to have a large kitchen upstairs for banquets/catering as well as one downstairs for day-to-day needs?*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault3/21 Can we have room for walkways along the walls? *** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
Larry Legault3/21Ensure there is sufficient storage space.*** This suggestion has been forwarded to the committee. ***
